I obtained a pair of grips from Hugh Clark for my force-matched VOPO marked 1938 S/42. They are old walnut originals that Hugh cleaned up and recut the checking. They don't look pristine new but have a couple dents and dark spots. But they look absolutely PERFECT on my gun which has a few spots of worn blue and light pitting of its own.

But what a difference from the "orig" plastic grips that it came with. I didn't think they looked bad, but once the walnut grips were on the gun I realized how crappy looking they were. My gun looks like a REAL Luger now.

Hugh's checking on the old walnut grips is nearly perfect as can be, considering they are old grips. One is crown marked (WWI?) Sure make a difference having old walnut on them. Thanks Hugh. And thanks to the forum as I would still be messing around with getting repro cocobolo grips, etc. These babies are the real thing and add mystique to a Luger with a lot of history behind it.
