Jamese is correct. It's not difficult to figure out where the cries of "advertising" are coming from. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I'm sure several people would like to have been chosen for the job. Legacy was chosen and has every right to be proud of that fact. No doubt other establishnents were in the running and several factors considered before the final decision was made. The folks at Legacy no doubt are ever grateful to all those who may have been influential in that decision.

Ed,
My jaw dropped and drool was prolific when I saw the pictures. Congrats on the assignment!!!
I am new to this and just cannot believe the prices. I remember finding Lugers for $50 each when I was in college and could not afford a down payment on a free meal.
One can only hope when some of these go up for sale they will be listed here
I am still looking for a 9mm in good shape at a reasonable price

John, lots of folks are putting in 'bids" for the inventory, as its being sold as an entire lot.

Whoever gets them will have to sell them somewhere, at shows, on-line etc?

I first started reading about lugers in the 70's as a teen, but my first bought luger was a reblued artillery for $350 in 1983 and then a few yrs later a mismatch for $350 (over paid on that one)

Off the subject, but I know will be read by folks.

I upgraded to Microsoft Publisher 2010. I know some folks don't like it for web page making, but its what I started with and so, until I have the engergy and time to spend 2 weeks making a new website, could a few users with MAC's, go to www.legacy-collectables.com and tell me if there are any differences in your ability to see other pages? I have been told that Mac users can not navigate through the site, and I have downloaded 2 web page makers and bought another and none of them can import the entire site, so its either not have Mac users see Legacy or I have to rebuild the site completely (its over 70+ pages of information)

Ed,
I can see your 'Featured Item', and the appraisal blurb. Still can't get to your other pages.

Thanks for trying,

I don't have a MAC, but I use SeaMonkey for my web browsing (Mozilla by another name). The "Enter Here For Our Great Selection" button (if it is a button) does not work; on the "General Information" page there is a button or link on the left side with no graphic - it seems to be "Page1611.htm"...Clicking that box takes you to the "Fine Firearms In Stock" page which is also missing a graphic on the left - a "Page356.htm" box/button...The 12 buttons on the "Fine Firearms" page take a *long* time to load; no idea why...

Hope this is a small help.

(When the Mozilla people concentrated on FireFox, a small group continued development of a new Mozilla; SeaMonkey is their project)

Well, I have no idea, I will eventually get away from publisher, as I hoped html was html (I know that "their" version is frigged.

Fred, so, the other things don't show as "links" to click on?

I haven't tried recently, but firefox worked fine last time I tried....

ok, on this laptop (the "spare" I brought with me), I just downloaded the latest Mozilla / Firefox and it went to a page of legacy that said 20 Sept, i refreshed and it shows todays date of the 27th (my new files I uploaded this AM) and everything shows up, but the center link does not work.

All the links on the left work.

Again, I had to refresh that page because my history and temp files were imported.

But the main page of All guns came up, and then I chose the PPK html

Most everything is working for me.

If I had a couple six packs of wine coolers, I'd make a new site....

Well, I bought publisher hoping it would help, but primarily because it has a more robust book printing capability (saves in higher resolution)

Hi Ed, using Firefox the navigation buttons in the Left frame don't show up on pages below your entry/home page.

MS uses too many Explorer specific "extensions".

Should you decide to re-construct the site manually, consider "Dreamweaver" which is part of the Adobe web oriented software suite. Your site could be done using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).

It's much less labor intensive to implement a site using one of the Web 2.0 tools like the open source WordPress BLOG software. wordpress.org has the downloads. I run this software on a Linux server, and it's very compatible, extensible and reliable. You can also create a temporary Blog on their wordpress.com site if you want to test some ideas out.
