Why do folks resurrect an old thread instead of posting a new one?
It is not like threads are expensive.
Threads with two(or more) lugers in them always get confusing - at least to me.

I call these "Zombie" threads... They seem to have a life of their own.

It's not that uncommon to find firearms hidden in houses. I just had a student that found a brand new Colt M1991 .45acp semi-auto above a kitchen cabinet.

I told him that if he bought the house with it's contents (normally stated in contracts) it belonged to him. I also helped guide him to comply with state law on the acquisition.

I spent 2 summers as an exchange student between Bayonne, N.J. and Bayonne, France in 1974-5. Bruno Duclos and his family were Basque and the resistance. They had a clay basement and Bruno when remodeling 40 years later they actually found among other items a German luger that was still in working condition~ My first luger was therefore a 1906 French contract! I became luger addict there after, 20 and no more I promised to Debby~ Eric
