Hello All!,

I hate to say this but I believe it to be true. It is just a matter of time, 20 maybe 40 or 50 years before all the "horror stories" that we are hearing from Canada, U.K., Australia, etc. WILL become a REALITY here in the U.S. Despite the currently 37 states that have "right to carry" laws, I have seen the writing on the wall: CREEPING SOCIALISM, and I DO NOT like it!!!!!!!! Sorry to be such a buzzkill. Mike

Not if we stand up for our rights Mike... Vote for Conservative Pro-gun political candidates and work against their opponents... I bet if you check, you will find that conservative pro-gun candidates are more often than not on the RIGHT side of most issues.

Expose the opponents lies of their opponents for what they are and keep this country and it's government on track with the constitution that has served us well for over 200 years.

What makes America different from most of the world is that we founded this nation on Freedom. If it happens here, it won't be because it HAD to happen... it will be because of indifference...

"The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing."

This applies everywhere.

"Expose the opponents lies of their opponents for what they are and keep this country and it's government on track with the constitution that has served us well for over 200 years."

This is of no use whatsoever when a majority of the voters don't feel concerned by the right to own weapons as they won't listen for lack of interest. Usually they are the same who don't care about fighting for their own freedom. My feeling is that this is a cultural thing: French, Brits & Germans historically are subjects of their Kings/Queens and rely on the State to be governed ("guided") and protected whereas people in the US are still (free) citizens who want to rely upon themselves and don't want to delegate the job.

(Actually Poland reintroduced the right to be armed at home after the fall of communism when the State realised it could not contain crime. Depriving people of weapons does not seem to be inevitable even in Europe. It's maybe time for the UK to do the same thing - so far gun control has been a perfect contra productive failure.)

I definately agree with the sentiments of the above two posts. But the facts are,(as I see them), the country is becoming more cityfied as in not "country folk" and there are more and more "sheeple" who do not care about anything except what they can "get" and/or how to manipulate the system to "get" more. Just look at the gun laws that have been enacted in Kalifornia, New York, and some northeastern states. Add to this the fact that the U.S. supreme court has been "dodging" the 2nd amendment issue for decades now. They are doing this (I believe) because if all the historical letters and writings of the the writers or the Constitution were studied it would be undeniably evident that the right to keep and bear arms IS a PERSONAL NOT A COLLECTIVE right. Oh well, off my box. Mike
