I like Heinz's approach, caliber groups.
Here's mine - the neat thing is that Granddad must have liked the .32, Both the 1849 Colt Pocket and H&R belonged to him before dad handed them down to me. This colt too has had a rough life, no idea what kind of shape it was in when he first got it. The H&R sports a holster cut down to fit. The PP is a military that I picked up along the way. Enjoy. A year or two after I started to buy guns including Lugers, I realized that a dollar I paid for something else was a dollar I couldn't spend on a Luger. I sold off or traded my P-38, Radom, .380 Remington model 51, Astra 400, and an Enfield .32 revolver on the principle. I still have a Ruger Mk.III so I can shoot .22 with the same grip angle as a Luger, and a "Vilar" Ruby-pattern pocket pistol which is in such bad shape it has no trade value.
Of course I keep my Remington Fieldmaster .22 (my first rifle), my grandfather's 16ga. Model 12 Winchester, and the Model 94 saddle-ring carbine which stood behind the door at my grandparent's sheep ranch in central Oregon. Wouldn't sell those for anyting. Sorry no pics. --Dwight |

Hugh,
About 3 months ago a woman came in the shop where I work with an old cardboard box. She said that she was cleaning out her Grandfather's house after he had passed on, and found these. She wanted to know if they were worth anything. She said that her neighbor had offered her $175 for them. We looked in the box and found a pair of Colt Bisley's in 38-40, each in an old wool sock. They were in about 85-90% condition and were 4 serial numbers apart. I think they were made in 1902, if I recall correctly. We assured her that they were worth much more than $175. Joe offered to buy them at a fair price, but she hasn't been back. I didn't know that you like Colt SAs or I would have tried to get contact info. Kind of made my jaws ache. Ron

Tac,
Very sad indeed. My heart goes out to you. You would think the British, of all people in the world, would know better than to give up their guns. If you're ever in Utah, give me a call. We'll load up the 4x4, go out in the desert and throw enough lead into the dirt to tilt the Earth's axis. My treat.

There's no fool like a government fool.
Sooner or later a second "Guns for Britain" campaign will be necessary.

Tac,
When you get to Depoe Bay. We'll see if we can get some of those back in the safe for you. May not ease all of the anguish, but it sure can't hurt. Looking forward to meeting you there one day. Ron

Hearing about any government, anywhere, grabbing a man's guns just pisses me off blue.
Here's my new signature:

Iaoshi made me do it
Iaoshi showed off his 1911 and I liked it so much I had to go make me one. I took a old sistama and reworked it right quick
