A generous offer, which I will thankfully take you up on. I have a chamber date 1917 Navy, s# 8958 (no suffix). It appears to be authentic, it has been pretty harshly treated, but it is mine and I love it. I'll be glad to know any information you might have on this gun, thanks.

This Navy Guy, and your humble moderator, has been busily acquiring more Navy pieces..including a matching K-Date rig...all serials match, including the holster. Not an easy catch, but certainly a wonderful addition to the trove. Its about 94% overall, covered with scriptic s marks all over , including the mag, which matches. A really nice piece. Pix later.

I'm expecting a navy in the mail early this week. It is a 1917 in excellent condition and a matching mag. I got it out of Gun List magazine and paid in the upper range of my acceptable price. I am sitting on pins and needles waiting to see if it is what the guy says it is. I already have a beautiful 1917 with a matching mag so this might be trade bait for a 1908 in comparable condition and matching mag. Too bad I don't have a digital camera...yet.

Can you hear me now?

Yeah, send them to me Tom... I will get Mr. Tinker's Article 15 paperwork for AWOL ready while I am waiting for the photos. He said he would be overseas a couple of weeks... keep him and his wife in your prayers for safe travel guys.

Tom,

I'll offer my assistance on this as well... Please feel free to send the Lugers - I'll take pics and post them up for you (HEY - IT'S WORTH A TRY!! ).. Seriously - you can send any photos to me if Ed or John S. is unavailable. I'll post them up (the servers are about 10' from where I'm typing this note - so the time delay should be pretty short..)...

Best to you - and Ed?? Have a safe, successful trip..!!
