Wanted to share an issue that I caused with my drum to save anybody else the trouble of learning the hard way.
Before I even attempted to load the drum I tore it down as per the instructions manual. While reassembling I apparently over tightened the small screw at the base of the mag tube. Went to the range with 25 rounds in the drum, the first 18 or so shot fine. Then as the follower was starting to enter the mag tube it locked up. Once I was home I was able to back the screw off a tad and the mag feeds all 32 rounds on a bench test X2. Also I was able to feel the bind when loading. Based off my extremely limited experience, if the rounds are hard going in they will not be properly fed out. So to summarize, don't over tighten the small screw at the base of the mag tube. |

follower drag!
Hi Miles, thanks for the report, and it is little tips and tricks that make the drums such a challenge! I will suggest that you again dissemble the drum and polish the whole length of the magazine tube with 320 W/D sand paper and a Scotch bright blending pad? Or 0000 steel wool! The slicker it is, the better it will work! polish the drum bowl / cup, both parts, and follower ends as well (need a fine polish grit? 600+), and re-grease! It should be slipper like a bearing anywhere the rounds run! BTW, I have up-graded the drum specs to use 124 grain bullets if available? I'm now testing American Eagle 124 9mm ball.. with excellent results so far... Best to all, til....lat'....GT

The trommelmagazin were able to be used in any Luger (in theory, as we have seen each one requires a bit of work to make one work) and they were also used by the Germans in their Bergmann MP 18 Sub-machinegun. 1 million of them were made but they are still incredibly sought after items.
