I think the words for Jerry are: carpe diem; which mean seize the day. He is always ready for the opportunity.
In fun, as always.

Alx, Yes..I understand..I hate GI graffitti. That pretty much ruined my dream..But! Do yourself a favor and take a toothpick and a terry cloth rag and gently remove that green goo (verdegris) from around the base of the closure stud on your tool pouch. It will eat away at the leather, black rot it and your stud will someday lose it's anchor and pull out.

Jack, yes! I am not beyond some blackmail to get precious Luger treasures! Unfortunately in this case I am not qualified to fix anything!

I was of course kidding about the name inside the holster - it was researched on this board in 2006 ( or maybe on the Still Luger board, I used to visit both,) and the member who had access to German army records found that there was indeed an officer with that name in that exact unit, who apparently also had a son in WWII. I think the name gives the holster a fine provenance, and more value as an authentic piece of history.

Those photos were taken back in 2005, right before I cleaned off the verdigris, so that stuff is no longer on the holster, 'been clean for the last 7 years.

I believe this is on your end, but I have sent an email to the actual server admins and see if they know the below server

Question

' beyond me why a server ( whose ? ) is blocking anything, since this board is not getting blocked, and there is not much functional difference as far as I would think.

No other discussion boards are blocked, including Rimfire, Smith & Wesson, Beretta, Ruger etc. boards I have memberships and access on.

o well ...... as Ed says, what the hell ?

I changed what I wrote

I have never heard of webdynamicsstudios.com and sent an email to Vic, who owns gunboards. It is possible that they are the server personnel. I do not know, but this is a weekend and sometimes folks can't help you as fast as you'd like

Thank you for your help, and there is no urgency. It can surely rest easy for Sunday, and maybe then next week something can be done.

I am very puzzled by this, odd name that you are being directed from?

And like you said, other gunsights open?

Remind me later if it doesn't work right (email works best if I am on my phone)

I don't have or use a smart phone. I like my dumb flip phone which never butt-calls and doesn't have a data plan charge. It does do Bluetooth stereo music and hands-free voice, and I'm a photographer, 'use regular cameras, so that's all the tech I need.

For the last hour or so I've been on Gunboards.com, looking at Lahti posts .....
I'm gratified that works at least.

When I searched "Luger" several posts had links to the Luger board. Links within Gunboards.com. They all gave me the same result, the "blocked" message exactly as shown previously.

As an aside, have you run security scans and cleared cookies? Just something to check?

That's a good piece of advice, and I did restore my computer just an hour ago ... still the same problem. I notice that now a message box appears on Gunboards.com , vBulletin Message, saying " Hello we are currently upgrading our system. "

I get the same problem on my laptop ( different computer) , and on another desktop running Linux Maya, not even a Windows or Mac ...

It must be in the servers somewhere ....

Did anyone come up with a solution to this message?

Your connection to this server has been blocked in this server's firewall.
You need to contact the server owner for further information.

Under the premise that misery loves company, I have to admit I'm somewhat relieved that I'm not the only one. CJS57's message is identical to mine, except for his IP address.

Maybe there's been a hijack or hack.

Looks like you are victims of an overzealous spam filter. As a server owner it is possible to subscribe to automatically updated lists of possibly harmful ip-ranges. Some anti-spam 'organizations' are a bit too easy when it comes to blocking servers (like Sorbs, which has IP-address 24.151.60.222 listed, btw), resulting in blocks of entire ip-ranges of users who did nothing wrong.

This is an unfortunate side-effect of the hacking/spamming community that also resides on the internet.

You can check if your IP is listed (blacklisted or reported) by using several sources on the internet:

http://whatismyipaddress.com/blacklist-check for example.
