He hasn't been back since he posted end of January

As said above, if you want to spend the money and make it pretty, I don't care, but it all depends on how original it presently is? I once sold a luger that had its sideplate messed up (not uncommon and the guy had me send it to a gunsmith who reblued the entire gun, so it'd match).

Of course, I am still considering finding a messed up Simson and having it engraved and nickled...

I think that would be awesome fun Ed ... where you going to try your hand at engraving or ???? Not so hot on the nickle end of things but that would be highly educational as well.
