Bore Stores at Cabelas: http://www.cabelas.com/fryprod-0/pro...6663.uts.shtml
I have about 40 of these; pistol, rifle, and shotgun. Started using them several years ago. Those of you using socks,Crown bags, cloth bank bags best be careful. I have used all of these and have experienced rust to varying degrees. I have not had any problems with the Bore Stores. Another advantage to these is the padding, it will allow stacking in the safe. Have a nice day |

Steve,
Thanks. These are new to me, and it is nice to hear that they do work. Stacking in the safe is exactly what I got them for. This addiction has, well, gotten outta hand, I need more room! Midway USA has them on sale right now. 4 inch barrels fit well in the P3 large auto. Artilleries do the same in the P4 large auto and revolver. FN |

The Bottom line is that if you live in a humid climate. Don't store hand guns in socks (wool, cotton or nylon), or rifles in cases.
I've seen numerous fire arms damaged beyond repair being stored in this manner. I once helped a gunsmith friend cut and scrape a gun case liner off of a nice old SxS shotgun, after it had soaked in Kroil for a number of days, so he could try to restore it. He did a great job, but it was still ruined as far as the value went. Bore Stores work great as long as they don't get wet. Ron

Yeah, but I don't know what size you'd need for an armadillo....

I just received my latest acquisition shipped in an old sock, I would have prefered other packing arrangements.
