Nice CZ27 Schupo. It will be a couple of weeks on photos. I did purchase the pistol. Better shape than I stated earlier. Probably 97-98%. Holster was a 1944 EWX hardshell P-38 which my son has take possesion of and want let me sell. Anyway I came out OK on the deal.
Thank you guys for all your knowledge and willingness to help. Lawrence |

Lawrence,
I am happy that you were able to pick up the DR luger and that it turned out better than you remembered. I look forward to seeing your photos. Here is a closeup of the DR markings on my CZ27.

Schupo, were any of these weapons unit marked (grip straps)? Do you know if any had the additional safeties added? I see on the forum that many actual police pistols had one or more of these alterations. Lawrence

Lawrence,
The safety alterations on the P.08 were generally limited to the Prussian Schutzpolizei and the Ordnungspolizei and did not apply to the Bahnpolizei. I would not expect to normally see safety alterations on Deutsche Reichsbahn lugers. I don't know about gripstrap markings. DR rifles and bayonets were sometimes unit marked, so it is possible.

The only identifing marking on the Reichbahn luger that I once owned was the "winged wheel" branded left grip. TH

Lawrence,
I can just make out that it is there. I will wait for a little lighter photo. Thanks for posting it.

Back when this forum was in its infacy, several years ago, we had a similar inquiry about this DR branding of the grip. There were excellent photos attached to that posting, but unfortunately, those photos are long gone with the transition to the new format we use today. Perhaps one of the old time members copied those photos to their hard disk and could repost them...??? Anyone still have those photos?

Yep, that is it. The winged wheel of the Deutsche Reichsbahn.
