As soon as that auction hit $382 Latvians grabbed metal detectors and headed for the farm fields! They will be digging up every acre...What kind of person would want that hunk O junk for 10 cents?

The funny thing is that every rust piece of junk that comes from the former Eastern Front was dug up nearby Moscow, Stalingrad (the majority), Leningrad or Kurland (in a less extent). All four year of brutal fight are usually sumit up to four battles.

Once again thank you for the replies and the encouragement everyone! I took a long drive to my parts guys shop yesterday and he was almost completely cleaned out of Luger parts. I ended up coming home with a mag release button and spring and a firing pin spring. Paid $20 for the three parts which seemed reasonable.

Just thought I'd post an update for anyone who's still following this project. I've been working a lot lately so I haven't had much time to do metal work on the pistol but I have managed to pick up a few parts here and there.
Picked up the following this week: -Sideplate assembly (should be fun fitting it to the gun) -Firing pin -Firing pin guide -Grips Still need a bunch of stuff but its getting there. Once I have some more of the metal work done I'll post some photos of my progress. |

Thats awesome man go for it! Mine was in just as rough a shape if not worse but I at least had all the parts. Before....
I spent about 2 months and now this is what mine looks like.... I found a few better parts so I'm getting them and plan to re-re-do it and see if I an get the bluing to come out better then it did my first try. Don't give up man it'll be a great shooter some day! Oh and don't worry if the barrel has some pitting inside it may yet have a good grouping and you won't know that till you shoot it for the first time. The crown is the key and if thats still decent she should still have a good grouping.
