Need to ID a Swiss Mag
This weekend I picked up a shooter byf 41 and it came with 2 mags. I don't know much about Swiss mags and had no luck with my internet searches to gain more info on them. Anyway I would like to know whent he possible prodcution of this one was and the ball park value of it. As you can see in the pick it says "MADE IN SWITZERLAND" and it has the proof below it. The base is black plastic and one side has the swiss (+) proof as well. Thanks in advance for the help.

Made by the Swiss firm Paillard, manufacturers of, among other things, movie cameras. See http://forum.lugerforum.com/showthre...light=paillard for an extensive discussion with photographs.

Thanks for the Info on it. My searches were based on "swiss luger magazine" thus I didn't find much. However I did see some information in the luger book but it was restricted to 1929 lugers with a plastic base. Are these common magazines or on the rare side?

Steve,
Your M1929 Swiss Bern luger magazine appears to be either brown or black plastic. Those are more common in the USA and in good condition can sell for between $ 80-125 or so. The more rare red plastic variety is a bit more difficult to find in good condition here in the USA. I paid $ 160 for my last 2 and was happy to pay that for each... |
