Default Need info; AE luger 30cal

I took a stroll into a local gunshop today and found an AE luger in 30cal. The finish was about 50%. The pistol had a grip safety and the serial number was 5 digits 371XX. Can anyone date this pistol? The old man wants 1000 bucks which doesn't seem bad. Bore is a bit dark but still got good lands and grooves. Thanks
Edward

Sounds like a reasonably priced 1906 American Eagle, probably the most common of the American Eagle Lugers. With only 50% finish remaining, it may be more a shooter than a collector's piece. Of course, for that price, one may one Ted Green to get a crack at restoring it.
