Okay guys, per Ed`s suggestion I`ve started a new thread with pics.
As you can plainly see, this one had the sear safety at one time. So back to my original questions; should I attempt to replace it? What`s it worth? If I can find a replacement how do you suggest I get the remainder of the rivet out (then again where am I finding a rivet to replace it with)? I picked this up with a 1940 dated brown holster (guess I should`ve taken a few pics of that as well). Thoughts?
Regards,

finidng a sear safety is fairly difficult, only if someone has parted out a police gun can you find one...

I haven't answered what its worth, because I don't know... Did you check Simpson's for a banner same year? Deduct 30% off their price, and that gives you a fair estimate, provided the blueing amount is close...

Try posting your needs in the Wanted Forum... someone may already have a spare sear safety they could sell you... you will probably have to have the rivet made...

Just Banners on Simson's:

http://www.simpsonltd.com/index.php?cPath=1_4

1939 Banner Police, but in 98% condition, so deduct x% from yours and for missing sear, more blue off, the more the value drops;
As an example, here is one that is 85% blue:
Quote:
MAUSER 42 CODE BANNER COMMERCIAL; 9mm; 85% blue, fair bore, good grips, black plastic grips, some pitting, P.08 on frame, no known examples in books, s/n 82xx y, Catalog Number B-35

B8924 $1,195.00
And then here is a 1939 Banner Police:
http://www.simpsonltd.com/product_in...oducts_id=2241

MAUSER 1939 BANNER POLICE; 9 mm; 98% blue, excellent bore, very good grips, Eagle C proof, Eagle C proofed Schmeiser marked magazine, s/n 19xxw, Catalog Number B-20
$2,650.00
Simpson Ltd. Inventory Number - D4116

Price difference equals condition, with a police magazine and condition...

Thanks for all the info, my pictures don`t do mine justice. Comparing it to the Simpson Eagle C I don`t think I did bad at all on the price, $900.00
Especially considering the holster as well.............
Thanks again!
