Default Need some help on re-assembly.......41-42 luger

I took apart my luger to clean and inspect and now after I reassembled the whole thing, it won't fire. I pull the trigger and nothing happens. Is there a certain way I need to reassemble? thanks

Edward,

Do you have spring tension on the toggle? Is it hard to raise? Are you sure the safety is off?

Are you certain that the sideplate was correctly seated during reassembly?

If you remove the sideplate, and then close the takedown lever you should be able to raise the toggle and **** the firing pin. You should be able to drop it down by pressing down hard on the front of the sear bar. If that all works then you have eliminated most of the hassle... the only other things it could be is the trigger and/or the sideplate... odds are that you have just not aligned the parts properly on re-assembly...

Let us know how you make out...

Hi John,
there is spring tension on the toggle and it is hard to raise. That is the way it is suppose to be correct?

I remember when I disassembled my first luger, I couldn't get it to fire. I then messed around with it for a bit and suddenly it worked. I don't know what I did, but I haven't had the problem since until now.

Yes the Toggle is supposed to have great tension on it to keep it locked down during firing.

What about the other questions I asked?
