Correct grip on this Arty?

While the gun seems to be original I've never seen a grip with the line around the edge like this, the grip also seems to be in very good shape. What do you think? Thanks so much. Thanks.http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/co...7art_owa.jhtml

Several things I see! Top view, toggle assembly looks a little red like hardened parts SALT blued. Barrel seems to shiny, hi polish and salt blued. Strawing on ejector is not uniform. Would be nice to see the other side. Grips are wrong for an Artillery and even look a little plastik! Just a subtle observation.

Hi Eric,

I think those grips are Italian-made grips with the smooth border...somewhat similar to the Swiss M1906/24 Bern luger grips.

I have a pair on one of my shooters and the wooded grips are of very nice quality.

I think the grips are from the 1970's time frame...but just heard that through hearsay...

Here is a photo of a rework Swiss Mauser luger with the same type of grips. This is not my luger...just a photo I picked up on a European web site :

The top of the front site on the Cabella arty should have at least two "69' numbers stamped on it and visible in the 'top" view photo...

I see this is your first topic so welcome to the Luger Forum.
The grips are not correct for the Arty model as correctly underlined before.
Pete what you mean whit the statement:

Do you think these grips from a Mauser Parabellum (Interarms) model?

Actually Mauro, I think Pete believes that these are aftermarket Luger grips produced in Italy during the 1970's, but not for the Mauser commemoratives and reproductions of the time...

Yes...just after-market grips from Italy...not Mauser grips.

Hi Eric,

In your private email to me...you are absolutely correct. This "arty" should not have the sights on the rear toggle link. I also noticed there are no Imperial stampings on the right side of the receiver...

Wonder if the top of the chamber has the real Artillery notch...???

Good idea...probably to pass on this one at the asking price.
