What's the mark on the side of the magazine? KFS

Very nice broomhandle!
The serial number should be between 0 and 150 000.
What is this one?
The holster seems to be a rare one, actually belonging to a later variaton broom!
The Mauser logo appears normally to 1930 Model broomhandles, so this one could belong to a 711 ore even better a 712 Schnellfeuer! Does it show a serial number?

Pistol is in the 83k range and all matching down to the grips and original. You are about correct on the stock. It is for a 1930 commercial and has the original and correct unnumbered irons (stocks often beeing sold separately during this period). The initials "AAW" are hand engraved on each side of the magazine. LugerDoc speculates these might be the initials of August Weiss, head of small arms procurement for Mauser during WW2. Impossible to know, but a nice story. I can easily imagine the young minor manager August being presented this pistol by a greatful group of subordinates during the first war... however the prussian proof kind of clouds this story. But then again, it is the only acceptance mark on the pistol and there are no other military markings other than the Red 9 in the grips, and the other Prussian Red 9's I've seen (limited to 3 examples), all had Army depot stamps on the right of the receiver -- but I've been told there are many without any but the prussian eagle on the front of the mag well, as mine is.

Holsterrepairer did the leather and one-off clip pouch in a "weirmar era custom" style, perfect to the metal fittings and stitching as is to be expected from such a craftsman.
