Just goes to show how easily a forum member can attend a show and be left out of the loop. I knew nothing about the planned dinner, so I am sad that I missed it. Yes, I was an "Honored Guest", a status I attained by forking over $50, and there I was, peering over the shoulders of the dealers as they unpacked their wares. I would never attend a show of any kind unless I could enter at set up time, even if it requires that I buy a table. Surprised that no one mentioned the superb DWM 1910 date with martial marking that I ended up with. Maybe I snapped it up before anyone had a crack at it. Anyway, Jan and I were both stunned by its beauty, as neither of us had ever seen a mintier example of this year date. Also, Jan did offer one pistol for sale from his personal collection, as I remember, it was a DWM 1914 which is pictured in his Imperial Luger book. I didn't buy it, but I was surprised to see it unsold when I left the show Saturday morning. It was a nice show, but decent buys are getting very scarce these days. Well, maybe at the November show I'll be forewarned about the dinner.

I think Ralph is the only one that took any photos. Maybe Doc can get a set and put on the forum. Russ

Hello Aaron,
Sorry you missed the announcements about the Reno gun show and the LF dinner event. This is our 4th. or 5th. time we have done it. I had started a 4-5-04 posting in this Gunshow section about the upcoming event...hoping to catch as many members as possible... Next event is planned for the August gun show...consider yourself invited...! p.s. How about posting your 1910 DWM score with photos...??? Regards, Pete... |

Pete,
have you got a date for the August show? I should have my motor home up and running by then. My brother in Escondido thinks that he would like to go to Reno in October or so. Is there a show around those months? Big Norm |

I'll do my best to make the next dinner, Pete. Thanks for the invite. Here's my beautiful DWM 1910 as requested. The photo doesn't do it justice.

Hello Norm,
Here is the web site link : http://www.bigrenoshow.com/ If you are driving in from MI, I would recommend the August show. Weather through the passes in November can be pretty iffy... Hello Aaron, WOW !!! I am convinced I will do the $ 50.00 honored guest thing next time. Regards, Pete... |
