Post Unit Marking

Just want to get some opinions as to the authenticity of this unit marking ?

I know it reports to represent the 16 Reserve Infantry Regiment, 8th Kompany, with a â??Câ? ?

Jim, Noll,s page 97 shows a 1908 holster marked

98.R. 1905 I.B.1908 3.C. I

He translates the C as Compagnie.
I remember reading that they, at some point changed from K to C or vise-versa. Can't find it at the moment. Anyway,I believe it is valid.

Ron,
I looked a little more in Jeff's book and found on the top of page #20 a reference to Compagnie with a K or C

also on page #91
1916 DWM PO8 marked
R.J.R.16.7.C

thanks
Jim

Jim, That is the reference I was refering to. I've been studying so many books lately that I could'nt remember where I saw it.
According to Histories of 251 div. the 16th Res.Reg. saw alot of action as part of the 14th Res.Div. Many of the 14th Div. were taken prisoner. So it's a pretty good bet that this is a captured pistol.
