Post Possible fake holsters on ebay?

A post on gunboards warns about this guy. The poster states he has personally watched the guy fake the holsters. He stated the guy lets them sit out in weather on 55 gal barrels for 2-3 months then buffs them. He is also alleged to have a boxfull of stamps he uses on pistols he sells on AA and GB. Here is a link to a current auction for your comments. It is even covered in mold!!! Other than the weird stamp setting off my warning bells, I had a hard time telling it was fake. Look at his other auctions he has same type style holster and its up to over $80!! Just thought the board should look at it and warn my fellow junior collectors!

Brian, This holster is certainly phony. It is marked P-38 on the back. The holster is configured as a P-08. The mag pouch is too large and has the cutouts at the top for a Luger Mag.There is a tool pouch installed in the top lid. The pull up strap cutout is too close to the center. There are many indications that this holster is a bad repro. Fellows, do your homework before you are stuck with a moldy smelly repro for big bucks! Jerry Burney

Here is a comparison of a genuine left belt loop on a holster that has seen service (brown) to this holster in this auction.

The repro holster has never even been on a belt since there is no stretch stress where it would fit around a belt being worn by a user...

Also notice the major difference int the stitching of the genuine holster compared to the repro. This holster was only worth about $30 new... and now that the owner has "weathered" it... it is worthless... I feel sorry for the "winner"...

I checked the bidders list and didn't see any 'handles' that I recognized as forum members... too bad all the Luger enthusiasts in the world don't spend some time here to get educated before being separated from their hard earned money...
