Holster question
Is there a site I can go and try to figure out something about the holster I have?
The holster I got with my 1917 DWM isn't the "normal", i.e., wrap-around full-case holster--it resembles a PPK holster in that the butt of the gun sticks out... I don't have a digital camera, so I can't put up photos of it, but it has a top flap with a metal button (brass?) as the tab, with a corresponding 1" x 3" strap...the magazine pocket fits the Luger magazine (angled on the bottom equalling the "rake" of the Luger magazine feed lip area), but there is not a tool pocket...medium brown in color (black inside) with faded white lettering inside the flap. The words "LNZ 194?" and "P3???" within a white border rectangle appear inside the flap. At the muzzle area, the holster is enclosed. Any help will be appreciated... <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" /> |

Hi JohnB,
I know a calypso song about a sloop with your name.. You have a P-35 (Browning Hi-Power) holster, not a P-08 holster from your description. Hope this helps, Tom A. |

So would this be a German (Reich) holster? Or a British? The Germans did use the P-35, yes?
But then the magazine pouch wouldn't fit...I used to have a Browning Hi-Power, and it has a double-stack mag--the pocket is 3/8" thick (about right for a single-stack mag like the p08 or p38) I'm thinking it might be a P-38...but I don't know. ...and I can sing, too! *adopts high, squeeky voice:* We come on the sloop John B My grandfather and me Around Nassau town we did roam Drinking all night Got into a fight Well I feel so broke up I want to go home So hoist up the John B's sail See how the mainsail sets Call for the Captain ashore Let me go home, let me go home I wanna go home, yeah yeah Well I feel so broke up I wanna go home.. *Karaoke machine breaks...* Well, almost! |

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...item=753200815 This holster is almost identical, except the mag pocket is shaped for the Luger...and of course it's a bit larger to fit the P-08. There are no 3R proof marks on it, though. |

That looks a lot like a Radom holster to me.
