Smile My First Luger

Found this site about a week ago. I had my Luger on layaway, just brought her home today. It's a 1916 DWM military. The only numbers that don't match, is the sideplate, the grips (two digits off) and the baseplate on the mag..about 200+ digits off. Have to figure out to post pictures...BTW Gave about 700.00, might be too much, but it works for me..:-)

Bernardg,

Welcome to the Lugerforum.

Sounds like a nice DWM... and from the photo you posted it looks like it will be great shooter.

A couple of hints for you about posting here... first is that you have the ability to edit your own posts by using the pencil/paper icon that is at the top of each post. You could have edited your first post to include all that you ended up posting in 3 separate posts... but that is because you are new and now that you know you can post 'better" the next time.

Regarding your left and right side views being too large... try taking the shot from about 18 inches away and using a tripod if possible to minimize "shutter shake" focus problems. Once you have taken the photos you can use a graphics software such as Paint Shop Pro to crop the image to exactly what you want to show and that will reduce the photo's physical size and also the file size... This will make uploading the file faster.

$700 might be just a little high to most of the members but it depends on where you live. If the gun is in as good a mechanical condition as it appears... $700 is not really that bad for a good looking dependable shooter that doesn't have to be refinished.

Good Luck and once again Welcome...

Just finished cleaning the grips up a bit....with a magnifying glass.... the grips are matching...leaving only the sideplate and the magazine as m/m..
