Help with ID and parts
Using the data from this website - need help with dating a DWM Luger with a proof mark (#14) on breechlock with a 42 below and just above the slide grove. Geladen is on the extractor. Other than this there are no other identification marking besides the serial # and the number 02 stamped on some parts.
This pistol has smooth walnut grips and has flat "s" shaped springs (for safety) inside the grip, also appears the safety lever used a round ball to "stay" in safety on and off position indents. Using the diagram from the website this pistol is missing part number 009 and part 022, can these be purchased and if so how much? Don't know what else may be of help but sure could use some as I would love to make this piece functional.

Hello John, I know you said there weren't any markings, but here is what I usually try to obtain from new members:
Can you tell us any markings on the gun? Proofs? (see on your left under tech information if you came through www.lugerforum.com) Tell us what and where proofs and markings are located. There are forms in this section, where you can print out and then write down pertinent information. What serial number is on the gun? To include any letters next to or under the serial number? What year or letters are stamped on the top of the receiver? What initials or letters are on the toggle? Can you provide pictures, to include side, top, etc? ________________________________ It seems that your gun is a "parts" gun, with assorted parts, the 02 is probably the last two numbers of the serial number, but if you can give us the serial number, we can help. Ed

as soon as I figure out how to attach a picture will send one. The serial number is 35328 (on barrel).
no marking on top of receiver and picture will show where markings are at on the breechlock. The top of the toggle shows DWM. appears this pistol was given to my significant others dad who recently passed away, and it has been given to our care

John, Judging by the serial on frame and lack of markings on the chamber, this sounds like a 1906 Commerical. Since the serial numbers on the small parts don't match, probably just a shooter. Does pistol also have a grip safety? If so, this should be numbered under the left grip plate. Is yours a 7.65mm with a 4&3/4" barrel or a 9mm x 4"? TH
