How can I delete my profile
I'm having a major problem with my profile, I can log into the forum from my machine at work, but not at home. I have tried emailing admin@lugerforum.com but I haven't received a response. I think the problem is that I set up my profile at work, but used my home email address. I would like to delete my profile and start over again. How can I delete my profile?

Try logging out at work, then the forum should require you to log in at home. But.... The first time you needed to log onto your home PC, it should have required you to log in and thus given you a cookie that remembered you were logged in?
What kind of problem are you having, because I am using the forum on my work laptop and my home PC and they use totally different ISP's and one uses 2000 and the other XP. I know that John D spent so much time last week on this forum, that he is having to play catch up at his job.

M38,
Try what Ed Tinker suggested... Log out before you close the browser at work. Then you should be required to login when you go to the discussion board URL at home... http://forums.rennlist.com/cgi-bin/l...ultimatebb.cgi Also make sure that you are opening the discussion forum in a NEW window, not inside the frame of the old website. Some members have replied that this was successful because their Internet Explorer installation had something wrong that won't let them login inside the old frame... I use several PC's in several locations without a problem using this method. Let me know personally if you still can't log in at home.

I'm using Windows XP at home.
I have tried logging off here at work and then tried logging in at home but that didn't work. I tried to set up a second profile as M38a from my home machine but using my work email (you can only have one profile per email address) since my first profile was set up at work but using my home email ... that didn't work either and I don't want to Bubba my profile(s)any further ... Every thing worked fine until last Friday Thanks for your help! |

I'm not altogether comfortable with people logging onto the UBB site directly as they'll bypass much of what makes this site great. When we refer them to some info they'll not have the foggiest idea what you are talking about. And then I have to ask why woulkd we want to keep all that stuff current?
Just my 2¢ worth...

Good point Dok, I will have to remember that too! We need to preserve all the other technical and general info as well as the other sections. Luger's history is so interesting to me and as far as I know, this is the only place I have seen it presented.

Dok and John'ssss, I am no programmer, but since we came here, this is what my browser points to. I manually have gone back to the "old" site on several occasions. Everyone else is probably doing the same thing and bypassing the "old" site. At the main UBB page, can't we post the URL's to the following areas simply by placing the URL's in a box? And then pretty it up later? Most people would never know the difference, they would have no idea that it is a separate site, just different web pages?
These would be in a box, inside would be URL's? Rogues Gallery History of the Luger Technical Information General Information Owner's Corner Links & Resources Classifieds Luger of the Month Luger Forum Centerfolds

Ed, we already have this, if I understand you correctly. If you go to the main page by www.lugerforum.com, you can access the New Message Board by clicking "Message Board" on the sidebar just like the old days, and additionally you can access the link at the bottom of the sidebar that says "Luger Menu Links" which will give you a separate page will all the menu links on it, and if you click on "Message Board" you will again get the NEW message board. I think we need to get people back to the main login.

Sorry Dok, I was under the impression that John D was going to a new system, which usually means another server and I thought he would want to use this site as the primary one. Because then you should be able to do a name change and anyone asking for Luger Forum would come here or do just the opposite and go there if you ask for this?

Doc,
If part of the recognition of a particular user by the Luger forum is his ISP server identification, then the problem that M38 is having may be due to him using two separate providers. I contacted you about a week or so ago and told you of my experience whenever I turned off my satelite and totally used my ground line. Maybe this is the reason that he gets no recognition by the Luger forum from the office to home.

Wes,
I have no recollection of ever receiving that communication from you, could be it was lost in transit... did I reply? I'm not sure how to answer that issue about having two ISPs, clearly that would give you two IPs, but it's not my understanding that would create a problem. I too have two ISPs and that doesn't seem to bar me from the forum or present other issues, but John D. would be a better person to answer this (as a Moderator maybe I get special treatment - hehehe)

I bookmarked this address from the message John posted as to the demise of the other, understood it was doa, haven't been back until a minute ago, the www.lugerforum.com site does not appear, lists that it is unavailable or no longer exists.

Thanks John! I accessed the forum via the address provided by you rather than just Lugerforum.com and via Internet Explorer rather that Yahoo and I am here and I am happy! |

Roadkill,
The site http://www.lugerforum.com absolutely still exists. Try clicking on this link, I just tried it and it worked. There must be a problem on your end. Dok
