Panda,
I would say it is true condition w/ original bluing. One indicator is probably on that 06/24 that they dont have to be blued under the safety lever in unsafe position. I like it because of that condition very much! As I could recognize this one is rust blued compared to my other 06/24 2nd Variation which is already salt blued!!! |

Hi Roland,
Very nice Luger and holster rig ! Congratulations ! Is the leather pull-strap attached to the end of your luger sewn in place...that is, can it be removed ? Or does it have a metal stud and slit in the end of the leather strap that will allow the strap to be removed if cleaning your gun ? p.s. Just to joke a bit...now you need a 2nd. Bern magazine and a shoulder strap for your rig..Collecting work never seems to be done, does it ? Regards, Pete... |

Hi Pete,
Yes, I have had some luck with that gun! But the seller told me that he is lucky to know it found a good home! The pull-strap on that one can not be removed an is carrying the name of the origin. owner inside. It seems to me, that the old owners took theyr Lugers to some commercial places to get that straps fitted to the guns. My other 06/24 has a stap also not removable from the gun but a different design. And then according to the Holster, have you tried to get the magazine out of the pouch on top? Unbelivable how difficult that is just with the fingers? By the way, I have some mathing Swiss mags in reserve, still need a strap for the holster and after that I will keep my eyes open for another nice piece more from the early days. |

Hi Roland,
I use a piece of small rope/twine that I wrap around the long end of the magazine before I placed it in my pouch...which is also very tight. When I want to remove the magazine, I just grab onto the two loose ends of the twine and pull the magazine out enough to get my fingers on it and then pull it out the rest of the way. Wonder how the Swiss soldiers pulled out their spare magazines...??? Regards, Pete... |

Beautiful 06/24! The pull-strap is virtually identical to the one on my '06 Cross-in-Shield variation shown the album "Swiss Family" in the Members Gallery (currently on page 10). My strap is sewn onto the lanyard staple and has been there a long time.

here I decided to show more pics about the straps on the first variaton seen above and my 2nd variaton 06/24
http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/ly1.jpg http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/lanyard_name1.jpg 2nd Variation 06/24, not as nice as the one before but a different design on the strap. http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/2_vartasche.jpg The straps are really urgent to get the Luger out of that Swiss holsters !!! http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfuploa..._in_tasche.jpg Ron, bautiful Swiss collection !! just a thorie : those straps in your and my 06/24 are probably designed as a lanyard to: I can slip into that strap not easily but the orig. owner have had probably much smaller hands so it could work as a lanyard? http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfuploa...ungsstelle.jpg Picture is showing the blank space - so it indikates the Gun is in unsafe position! http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfuploa...tach_copy1.jpg The stamp on the backside of the 2nd Variation holster made in 1923: |
