2000 Members
Another milestone attained! And from the profile it would appear that this occasion welcomes another lady to our group.

Ron, My computer page says 1996 or is mine behind? Anyway won't be long now. What I would like to know is where are all these people? One would think that with 2000 members there would be more discussion by many of them...Jerry Burney

That's great, Ron. No one can spend time here without learning a lot of new things about Lugers. What a wonderful invention, this internet.

Jerry, mine showed 1996 on the front page and all the interior pages show 2000...
much like most things, sometimes we are larger on the inside than the outside. No, I think it's the other way around...

Yaaah!!! Ya caught me Ed ! I knew Ron was right...Well I agree with Daubs, this is certainly a great thing. I learn something here every day and pretty soon I will go looking for one of those Luger University Graduate diplomas offered on Fleabay. As soon as I stop learning....Thanks to all of you who contribute! Jerry Burney

Maybe we should offer our own Lugerforum Certificates for download?
What models do you think should be printed on them? Regarding the actual number of registered members... The number that appears in the upper right corner of the screen is the ACTUAL number of current registered users in good standing. The number of folks who have ever registered have actually exceeded the 2000 mark, hence you will see new member numbers higher than that...but the reported number currently only reads 1996 because a couple of members that departed under less than amicable circumstances had their profiles deleted and their numbers are never reused. So the "missing" really aren't. There are two or three "members" that exist only on paper. I have an alternate ego membership that I use to test forum privileges and capabilities from a registered member's standpoint, since this identity (making this post you are reading) has admin privileges on the forum. When someone tells me that something isn't working right, and I test it as an "admin" and it does work, then I have to be able to log in as a member with only "user" privileges to make sure than it will work for the general membership and isn't just working for me because I have "admin" privileges. John D. also has an alter-ego... and you can see him by visiting the bottom of the rogues gallery page ... that is probably more information than you wanted to know... But I hope my rambling has been helpful.

Thank you for all you do. I really mean it. I anticipate logging on as much as I like going to the Cigar and Gunshop here on Amelia Island. I don't think thats the name of the business. It's a place where the "for real" old timers sit around and smoke cigars and talk. You can learn. Not popular with "The Gentry".It's stepping back 50 yrs in time. I'm 47 and and feel very, very young there.

Hey G.W.
My thanks.. But - you know what? I just kind'a "do what I do" - if you know what I mean? Collecting for me is a passion and a "hobby", rather then a "business" - and I hope that this site becomes and extension of that.... So, if folks want it to be the "place" that they stop by, listen, learn, and smoke a few cigars whilst just reading - that's OK with me too... My thanks for your post.... It means more then many realize - and is sort of what "it's all about".... |
