Post Visit to Festung Roadkill

All,
Today I took half the day off and went to v isit Festung Roadkill, just above the Tennessee river outside of Huntspatch AL. He and his lovely wife were very hospitable and RK showed me his collection. The guy has the basic weapons and TA-50 field gear for every major combatant nation in WWII plus similar for the recent unpleasantries in SE Asia as well as the "Smack Iraq" series. The best part is many of the weapons are family pieces (He had 8 Uncles in W.W.II) so the provenance abd authenticity are beyond question.

All in all a very nice visit with a very nice guy and his wife.

Thanks for the kind words, now its time for the Paul Harvey(the rest of the story): first of all he found the place, no small accomplishment, secondly he walked in the shop with a box full of guns which always gets me in trouble with my wife, Tom can speak very good German when he is so inclined, and when a quite attractive 28 year old brown eyed German lady asked if she could join Tom and I at our table he was quite inclined to do so. BEST PART: I got to examine Tom's 1917 Navy with holster, matching stock, three matching magazines, magazine pouch, and cleaning rod. Really an impressive set. And a good time was had by all.

Hey RK,
What happens at the Stammtisch is supposed to stay at the Stammtisch, or at least thats what I was taught as a jungjaeger getting my jagdschein.

Thanks for a pleasant few hours.
