Default Original Third Reich 9mm Cartridges

For those of you who may be cartridge collectors, I thought you might be interested in viewing an original box of war issue cartridges. It is the last one I have of those that my father brought back with him. I find the box of historical interest.

Robert,

I have a Luger rig which I bought from the family of a veteran and there was a full box of cartridges which came with it. Mine were made in 1943. One interesting thing about the label on the box; it tells every component, the maufacturer and the date it was made. If there was any problem with the cartridges, each component could be traced back to the beginning of manufacture. This show how detailed the Germans are and how they controlled quality of the goods provided to the soldiers.

I've got a few boxes of what I think is ww2 German 9mm.

The boxes hold 16 rounds. There is no label, just "kaw 43" stamped into the cardboard. The cartridges are steel cased with "44 Wa St+ 7" on the case heads. These are ww2 German right?

Yes, www.empirearms.com has them.. I need to order some more of these, before they dry up on the marketplace.

Empirearms is a good company, and I've bought several OUTSTANDING handguns from them before. They take the cream of the crop of imports, and only sell those. Yes, a bit more expensive of a retailer, but you are sure to get TRUE handpicked items. I wish he sold Lugers!!

Years ago I purchase a full wood crate of these 16rd boxes of Nazi 9mm @$2/box. I don't recomment shooting the stuff, even though it functioned great, because the unjacketed steel bullets, shot out a yard long shower of sparks from my p38 as it wore out the bore.

I've had a few boxes hanging around for about forty years, but am constantly amazed that new supplies keep turning up on a regular basis, and at very reasonable prices. I hope everyone keeps in mind that this stuff is corrosive!

I enjoyed looking at that box label. I have four boxes of WWII ammo; I would be happy to post photos of the labels but I don't know how to put photos on the site. My boxes are wrapped up in plastic; they are from 1944, I think. Some of the boxes have two labels; as though the boxes were relabeled for some reason. It would be fun to have some expert Linguist translate the words on the box you posted.
