Convert or trade?
I need input as to whether I should have my 1920 Commercial converted to 9mm or just see if I can trade even up for a 9mm.The .30 Luger is not economical to shoot (I may handload but I'd need to do it on the cheap with something like a Lee Loader)at 19 beans a box of 50.

The question is not an even up trade, but can you get a 9 mm for less than the the 7.65 plus cost of conversion? I would think you might.

Whoa!!!
I do believe that you have forgotten the first rule of gun trading: your gun (whatever it is) is always worth more than the other fellows pitiful piece of iron. The other fellow just doesn't know it yet. (Plus, you are not really sure that you want to trade and be handicapped with a 9mm.) Please sit and contemplate the obvious merits that your 7.65 possesses. Another pistol will have to come pretty far to be an even trade, so the most difficult item that you have to determine is how much the 9mm trader must offer to boot.
