GT,
Just be glad the pigs didn't have guns, or you would have really been in trouble!

Hi Hugh! I think you're right! I probably would have been in trouble, even if the pigs only had sharp sticks! Best to you, til...lat'r....GT

Hi Luke! Good idea! But nope... everything but a Luger! Might as well of had a tennis racket... going out again Thursday with a well proven hog hunter... some question as to my stealth ability??... no, it wasn't lack of firepower..it was lack of hogs!! I'm taking better glass this time.. no more bino's.. spotting scope this time!! Most likely will end up 0 & 3... but at least no one can call me a quitter! til..lat'r....GT

YES!!!! Its here!!!! I received my new luger today! It is very nice. My Friend GT was kind enough to GIVE me an extra magazine (original, not a repro) and in great condition only a small chip on one ear. He also GAVE me a loading tool (original also). The luger has some minor cosmetic flaws, but overall finish a strong 95% (this is My opinion and GTs). All matching 1916 DWM, even the grips are great. there is some pitting on the bottom of the sideplate, but you can hardly see it without a magnifying glass. There is some scattered flecking, but I have removed some with a oily cloth and some elbow grease and found it was not pitted underneath. The straw is still strong and the bore is mint. The magazine that was with the luger is only 12 away from being the correct serial. I will post pictures very soon. GT sold this luger to me at a lot less than its value and THEN included the extra mag and tool at no cost! He is a great friend and an outstanding man. Thanks GT! I owe you one.

Hi Adam! Looks like all's well that ends well! I'm happy you like your new unit!! And that it arrived safe and sound after our slow start!! The WW1 DWM Luger you received, should act as a nice reference for any future purchases... you can always look to it for original comparisions, blue, straw, color, numbers, proofs, etc... Now all you need is a decent WW1 holster to complete your entry level rig! Best to you Adam! til...lat'r....GT

Pigs lost today! Knocked one down at about 3.00 this afternoon.... ugly little critters... found out what it takes to be a good pig hunter... A LOT OF WORK! Went up three peaks before we found them! Then there were pigs everywhere! Shot at one and missed! He ran right toward me and on the next shot he was dead... finding them with GOOD glass is the key... after you find them, the rest is easy! best to all, til...lat'r....a tired pig hunter...GT

Sorry Guys! No pictures...it was a mad dash to the meat processors plant! I shot it (center high) with a .243, 100 gr. softpoint... wwwaaaayyy to much gun!!... a .223 would have done nicely... a pistol round, even better... almost shot over it twice... haven't shot anything for awhile... now, it's back to the range! more practice! Best to all! til...lat'r...GT

Cool

I think GT is talking about the Collared Peccary also know as the Javalina! Here is a site for all kind of info on them. They only run around 30-60 pounds so a pistol would be good, but they run in packs and sport some really nasty tusks.Anything mean enough to eat prickly pear cactus is pretty immune to pain! lol I have hunted them a couple of times and in New Mexico you can usually also hunt quail at the same time and they do live in similar terrain. The wild pigs of the east are about 10 times as heavy and you really need more gun for them. CLICK HERE FOR Pig Site

GT, last time I was at your house, you were gracious enough to serve me a great, grain feed porterhouse steak, yummy! Now I would imagine it might be porkerhouse? OINK!
