Post The Baby has Arrived

Well the long awaited "Baby" has arrived and it's pretty special, at least to me. I now know the gestation period for a Baby Luger!!

It's a pretty little pistol and I will take some photos a bit later and post them. But I do want to thank the LF Members that helped produce this jewel!

Hugh for the major metal rework, grips and magazine modifications.

GT for the wooden magazine bottoms.

Strider for the help in the chamber design.

Thor for the final metal prep, rust blue and strawed small parts.

Thanks to all, I really appreciate your fine efforts!! I also have to thank the engraver, although I don't think he is a Forum Member.

Lookin' forward to the photo essay Frank... make a bunch of them, both assembled and disassembled and we'll make a dandy Member Gallery album out of them!

Congrats!

Frank welcome to "Club Baby". I was fortunate enough to be the third in line for my Baby Luger. I do hope you plan on shooting yours. I found that mine actually shoots quite well.

Frank, I am glad your baby made it home. It was my pleasure to help out. I hope the part that I helped out with meet with your satisfaction. It was fun to do and hope to be able to do it again in the future.

Daniel---thanks for the kind words. I remember the 2 babies very well. They were my number 2 and 3 baby conversions. Number 2 was for your very significant other----Marilyn Manchester. I have marked all my baby lugers under the grips----Lady Manchester Baby Luger Conversion. Some years ago when I advertised to do baby conversions---I advertised them as Lady Manchester Conversions. Class Lugers named after a Class Lady!!! I have done about 14 baby conversions over the years. Two have a grip safety. I currently have a baby carbine about 90% complete. It has a 16" bl with full length manlicher style forearm. Butt stock is English style with cheek piece and curved metal butt plate. I think there is a picture floating around the forum somewhere. My best to Lady M. And again, thanks for the kind compliment.

All,

I had Art make a baby as a gift to my daughter; she has treasured it ever since. What craftsmanship from a great guy.

Tom's daughter's Luger is my idea of the perfect baby. The proportions are just right. Gonna have one of those someday (I hope).
