Post Leaf mainspring replacement

I would appreciate any advice on removing and installing a leaf type mainspring on an early Luger. I looks to me like the best approach is to push it in/out from the side somehow, hopefully without the need to remove the grip safety. KFS

Karl,

Thats pretty much my experience. You'll need to use someeting hard to press with, use something which will not mar the surface of your gun.

Thanks Dwight,

I just replaced the spring using a short piece of wooden dowel to push the spring into place. It was a lot easier than I expected. The gun functions perfectly now. KFS
