Hi Herb.....

So - you are watching the bidding from the peanut gallery?? And this is a spectator sport???

You have a warped sense of humor - I love it!!!

Heh, heh..!!!

Best to you Herb - and seriously - thanks again for that link!!

Guys,

I just bought an HK magazine 2 weeks ago and will buy another at the Reno show. That's all the HK magazine money I need to spend...

But this one on auction looks nice!!!

Regards,

Pete...

Hey Pete..!

It is a nice one - for an early production. However - if I buy it - it creates a problem, as I'll be on the eternal seach for the matching HK Shhhessshh...!!!

Hey Herb..!

Yea - it takes a warped mind to look at collecting in that perspective. Thank goodness - I'm well up to the task

Hey - I won the auction..!!! Anyone seen HK # 1002 lying around in the bottom of their desk drawers???

Congrats John, that guy has a really good feedback rating but I'll bet he would go nuts if he knew that was really a Krieghoff magazine. Another collecting twist--Seller Beware, LOL.

Pete,
please don't tell me that the two HK mags you bought had P792 in them.

Pete,
I have a "P" code Krieghoff, 30 cal, with side inscription. Its serial number is P792. I have four Krieghoffs and it is the only one that does not have a matching mag. I am constantly looking everywhere I can to find that mag.

See page 191-195 of Gibsons book. When I find it, you will hear me screaming all the way from Michigan. Its right up there with wood bottom mag serial number 1339 for my 1914 DWM artillery and a few stocks for some other navies and artilleries.

My wish list is long, but there are some priorities. Right now I have all six of the WW1 artilleries and four of those have the matching mags and stocks. It would be nice to complete the cycle.

Hey folks..!

Pete - first - your "prize" for the HK Quiz is in the mail..! Let me know when you get it, OK??

Yep - I'm kind of excited by this mag. - especially given the price/condition.. Now - on to find HK 1002.?? Did everyone check their desk drawers and closet shelves??

Also - Big Norm - let me ask around for your mag. It's worth a try, anyway...!

Thank you John. Maybe this will be one of those times that my having a big mouth pays off. I am sure that somewhere in this big old world, people have magazines/stocks that I am looking for. If I could only get them to look in that little box of spare mags and stocks that so many people have.

I am a regular on Hallocks publishings. Its surprising how many times I find numbers that I am looking for that are on the wrong type of spine and bottom. I get quick shots of high excitment every time only to be followed by big let downs.

John,
Just as an after thought, since my mouth is running and my hopes are high again, see if you can find mags for my 1936 (SN 5635) and 1937 (SN 7617). I already have one matching mag for both but those mothers are looking for their other babies.

Finding matching accessories can be more exciting than finding the Lugers. In my quest, I have found one matching magazine and one matching stock for my Lugers. Even with the passage of time, I still get excited about finding them.

Hey Big Norm..!!!

No promises - but let's see what turns up, OK??? I think it would be terrific - as I've been looking for one for my HKs as well for a while...

Pete - please do let me know, OK??? In the meantime - it's not a "gift" - you earned it with your excellent analysis of the HK..!!!
