I have a Simson that is all original except for the mags. It came with two numbered mags and a 1941 dated holster(vet.purchase)but the mags are WW2 issue. Jan Still book says Nazi re-issue.

I am certainly ready to let go of this topic. As a new forum member I have really learned a lot.
However, it has nearly all been through private emails. There seem to be a reluctance to post by some very knowledgeble collectors for what ever reason.

To quote one collector "This pistol is a recognized variation (like the death head re-works for example) and I believe would be worth in the $1200-1500 range to someone understanding the significance of the Gun House and factory reworks and interested in unusual variations. The upside is that your Luger is rare, documented and in nice condition. the downside is that probably no more that 5 in 100 Luger aficionados have any appreciation for what it is"

Well vic, this is a continuing problem on every forum that I visit and moderate at. You are member # 1483, and there must be hundreds of people that sign on during the day and just lurk. I have trouble NOT writing and find it an easier to learn by asking questions, commenting on what others say, etc.

So, to answer your question, I have no idea why they don't post? Afraid of ridicule, afraid they'll look or sound stupid? Expect others to answer questions they already know? {{I look up things up in my books, as I sure as hell don't have it memorized}} or they are lazy and figure others will answer the questions and provide them entertainment.

I know, I sound negative recently...
