Default please help with Identification

Any feedback helpful, magazine is old, well used but aluminum w no markings ..

1940 dated code 42 (Mauser made) P 08. Grips are probably incorrect, as they didn't start with the black bakelite grips until 1941. Lighting is pretty bad for the photos, plus they don't upload well from screenshots. My first impression is it has its original blue finish, but can't really tell from the photos. The magazine really isn't that important, unless it is serial number matching, or a scarce variant.

I think it is still perhaps a collectable gun. But on the other hand, I think all Lugers are shooters. Better pictures would help determine whether it is collectable, and to what extent. You can read the FAQ at the FAQ button at the top of the page.
