Cartridge counter grip
I have a cartridge counter grip from a 1907 luger. It is in pristine condition. It was examined by an appraiser and he thought it was authentic. Does anyone have know what it is worth.

An appraiser? Who would that be? You have to be a REAL Luger freak to appraise a cartridge counter grip and just "an appraiser" won't cut the mustard. I know 2 who would be extremely capable of doing it..but unless you KNOW it's authentic..you are barking at a squirrel that ain't necessarily in the tree.

Clear photos of the grip, front and back could help determining authenticity and possibly value. These grips are very rare (only 50 originals) so finding a loose one is well against the odds. They are fragile if not handled properly, so replacements (read fake) are what is usually encountered.

Without detailed photos, no one can tell you for sure, or not, what it/they are worth...

Mauser also had quite a bit of surplus CC grips left after their commemorative post war CC run.
These grips will not fit on a pre-1970 grip. |

Apparently the OP does not wish to pursue his thread any further.

Weren't the windows in original Cartridge Counter grips in the left grip? The set in Russ' post would allow the follower button's progress to be seen. Sheepherder made himself a pair similar to the latter, IIRC. The pair pictured also has the dead giveaway as a less than careful repro of the rounded top, front corner. They look like fun, nonetheless.
