Magazine spring
I have a magazine that has a coiled spring versus the 'back and forth' zig zag spring. It has a round button on the bottom that goes into a hole in the magazine bottom. What do I have?
BTW, I cannot add photo at this time.

Tom, You made a common error: the mag spring guide should be at the top of the spring to assist in a better connection of the spring to the mag follower. TH

Another thing that's a mystery to me: all the componets I mentioned came out easily from the mag body, I'm having a fit trying to get spring to go into the mag body, looks to be too large diameter for body?

Maj Tom, If you have a followed mag tube the is not dented, the coil spring should be correct. Perhaps yours is deformed, more likely the tube is dented. If you don't care if mag is original, you can purchase a new zig-zag spring for $10 + S&H. TH

Maybe you are compressing the spring before inserting it.
It might go back easier un-compressed. just my 2 cents |
