Default 1911 DWM Luger GSWAP

An amazing coincidence.
I was talking to a near neighbour of mine (Piet) about my Artillery Luger just acquired and he came out with the story of his 1911 Luger.
I told him that I also had a 1911 Luger packed away.
After looking at it, he convinced me to share it here too as it's origin seems to be close to his.
It is a 1911 P08 from DWM with serial number 9915 with what looks like the letter "e" below the number
Matching number throughout including magazine.
Apparently issued to the German South West African Police (GSWAP) according to the markings on the back strap - LP 383
I am still fairly new to this forum and collecting and do not have any story, or further information on this Luger. I am however, fascinated and researching/learning as fast as I can.
I can post photos if anyone is interested.

The "LP" stamping is a German Southwest Africa police marking for the Landespolizei. I have one brought to the US by a South African immigrant. It's a very rare and sought after Luger.

Only 17 numbers away from my LP366 and possibly 284 numbers apart in the factory (9915e to 199f)

Pretty close!
To think that these three were together in Namibia more than 100 years ago! We should consider a reunion.

It'll have to be in Virginia 'cause I'm not going to South Africa.

Too bad.. I just acquired a few rib eye steaks with compliments from the mall -- we could have had a good braai!
