Update:
Man thanks to all the help from the members of the forum. I took my P08 to a friend who owns a machine shop, and after in-depth looking at the mess I got myself and the firearm into, it got fixed. All is well, now I a going to try and see how I cocked this up so badly Many thanks again, especially to Tom Heller, I really enjoyed talking with you sir....... |

All's well that ends well. Glad you were able to resolve your problem.
In future, just remember that once you lower the locking bolt (take down lever) and remove the side plate, you do not disassemble anything more until the entire upper is separated from the frame. If you shoot it, let us know how it works. |

Yes sir....I am pretty sure I had the magazine in place at some point when I pushed the upper forward...I think this caused the jam
I am grateful I got away with what could have been a catastrophe .....thanks again to all who helped |

On reviewing the mess I got myself into, I am pretty sure I had the magazine in, which pushed up the hold open latch, when then moved the receiver, it trapped the HOL.....things went from bad to worse. I tried to remove the breach block but it was trapped, and then the pin wouldn't align
We ended up driving the receiver forward with a piece of wood to soften the tapping.. we used a lot of penetrating oil before hand The springs, and everything are OK. No damage.....greatly relieved and thankful for the help on this forum The take away....make sure the magazine out before any movement is attempted..... |
