I re-read the Bond series some 10-15 years ago (I had all the paperback Bond books back in the 60's) to relive my youth...
IIRC, The only reference Fleming had to a Luger in the Bond series was a comment by 'Red' Grant that he had left his Luger at home (he 'borrowed' Bond's pistol on the train) in the book "From Russia With Love"...
