Switzerland in WW2 10 min video
With so many Swiss Luger fans (myself included) in our forum I wanted to post a link to what I found to be a very interesting 10 minute video on Switzerland in WW2.
I will attach a screen snip, hope you also find it interesting, best wishes, Joe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FILxoQyKzDg |

Excellent. Thank you for posting this. I knew that the Swiss were neutral in WW2 and detained any foreign military they captured within their borders but the bombings and dog fights I didn't know about.

'Neutral' meant selling to everyone and profiteering from the rest. Swiss banks were quite helpful in hiding the spoils of war and frustrating attempts of Jewish heirs to get access to the accounts of their perished ancestors.
So I always look at Switzerland's role during WW2 with some reservations. They were, however, stuck in the middle of a mess, and that brings its own challenges. The Netherlands, neutral during WW1 saw a similar scenario. They pissed off the British by selling to Germany, for example. A complex game, neutrality. |
