's' date luger holster
I have a brown 'S' over 1939 Luger holster with no maker stamp and a large Waffenamt stamp with WaA ?00 under the eagle. I've not run across this 'S' over 1939 in the past. Is this an unusual holster or standard fare?

Are you sure that is the only letter? L.Scultz used LSA with a WaA 400. Bill

I am suspecting Bill is correct.
The maker marking he's referring to has a small "L" over "A" and a large "S" over both. The proof on these as Bill says, is "WaA 400". All of these that I've seen by this maker, are dated 1939. See photos below of an example. Matt |

Gentlemen,
You are both correct! Looking at the holster in natural light with no magnification, the 1939 and 'S' were visible. The waffenamt eagle and the WaA 00 barely so. So, in brighter light and under magnification the missing '4' and the letters L and A became visible, just barely. The holster is rather worn and scuffed up and it certainly helps to know what you are looking for! Thanks! |
