Default 1937 s / 42 or byf 42 ???

I have a 1937 S/42 AND a BYF 42.
Both in about same condition. Like to only sell one.
Was wondering which may be more desired ?.

Nothing jumps out at me as being "wrong" with either one, so I guess it's a personal choice. Had the 1937 been of the earlier variety, rust blue with strawed parts, I would be inclined to keep that one, but...
Of course the 42 is one of the last.
If all else is equal, how about putting a price on both and keeping the one that doesn't go first?

The black based FXO magazine in your byf 42 would be considered matching, and is more valuable than the other numbered aluminum based magazine unless it's matching to the 1937 Mauser Luger it's in.

Factory serialization errors are possible, but generally were corrected with an overstamp digit.

It's more likely that they were swapped early on, especially if the magazine is the correct type for the Luger.

Close, definitely attractive, but not matching.

They are both nice, probably a wash between the two.

Regarding 1937 -
The magazine is only 3 digits away with the matching letter block? I'm stupid enough to pay about 5% more for that, assuming the E/63 stamp on the bottom is correct style for late 1937.
