A rare commercial-military Luger - s marked
The pistol was originally a part of the asset of succesively two Belgian leading Luger pistol collectors. One of them, G. Machtelinckx, is of international repute and is usually cited as source provider in the main English books on the topic like those of Jan Still's or Eugene Bender. What is featured here is a rare Luger specimen. It is the kind of historical piece that makes experienced collectors happy, as it requires them to delve deeply into their knowledge of Lugers, while not allowing them to reach the point where the piece gives up all its secrets. Very interesting link, I enjoyed it very much. As to the Luger itself, not being any kind of an expert, do the interesting aspects of this luger outweigh the fact that it is mismatched to the tune of $2500? A shooter? Maybe a very desirable shooter in good condition and honestly represented. Not trying to flame, just learn.
Thanks again,

Gerard,
Do you own the Luger rifle shown in the photograph at the website for which you provided the link? Or do you just own the photograph?
