Depending on what you consider reasonable just keep looking on here as they come up and are quite often priced right considering their condition.

Obi2winky, welcome to the forum. Before you look for a Luger be sure to become knowledgeable. Check out the FAQ section on the forum as it is a wealth of info and immensely helpful. As mentioned already, keep an eye on the for sale section on this forum or place a want to buy WTB post.

In my case Lugers tend to find me.

That you are finding it a challenge means you are going about it in the right way. IMO finding a good value in Lugers requires time and effort.

I would suggest you comb through old threads on this and the other Luger discussion forum, looking for threads where your question has been asked before. There are many excellent and fairly recent threads that give useful information on obtaining a first Luger.

A friend sent me a link to a farm auction site featuring a piece he was interested in.

It was an auction web based site featuring state wide auctions and by pure chance a 41 byf "Black widow" was featured further on down the link.

I wanted it, I bid on it and took it home!

I did a google search and found this site and posted pictures and got great advice.

This site was suggested as well:

https://simpsonltd.com/

Two gentlemen have fine Lugers that I have corresponded with for possible purchase as I found out mine is really in the collector class and I would like a Luger shooter.

My Ruger MKII 22's are remarkably similiar in feel and handling so they are filling the bill until a shooter Luger comes along.

educate your self and enjoy the hunt!

Here's an example of a thread that has useful information. There are many such threads, this is offered more as an example of a useful thread, than as being the answer to your question.

IMO patience and effort are key to finding a Luger at a reasonable value. Part of the effort should be in looking through old threads in the Luger discussion forums.
