Luger Holster Berlin - Please Comment
I purchased the 1937 marked, S/42 Luger shown in the first picture. It came with this holster. It is marked Berlin and has the same 9207 number matching to the gun.
What can you tell me about this holster? I was told that it was designed to hold a regulation Luger and/or an Artillery Luger. Thanks for educating me on my first Luger and holster.

The holster is for the Broomhandle C96. To my eye, it appears to be a fairly well made repro. Let's see what the more knowledgeable have to say...

Hi Lou,
Your 1937 S/42 may have all matching original parts down to the grips and magazine but unfortunately, as David has said, it's been buffed and blued (poorly refinished), which ruins the value to a collector. If the bore is in good shape it would make an excellent shooter. Regards, Norm |

I commented on the holster on your "luger" thread.
It is a repro broomhandle holster and has been "spuriously" marked with the number of the luger. The regular luger/artillery info is just B.S.

Thank you all for the input. I paid $2,400 for five guns. The Luger and holster and four Mauser pistols, two 6.25 and two 7.65, all 1910/1914 Models.
Thanks again!

Do any of you know if this holster is for a normal length C96 or a Bolo model?
If the holster is for a Bolo I would be interested in making an offer on it (if the OP would part with it). |
