See any issues with this luger?
I don't need another one but this one popped up locally and figure I would ask if there's any obvious issues.

Pretty high price for an import marked shooter, JMHO.
But then there is that plush lined sock!

I thought it looked like a stamp on the bottom of the barrel but he says there isn't any.
Does the finish etc loom correct etc? Realistic price range? Jim |

The finish appears to be East German rework which would explain the import marking as they were imported about thirty years ago after the "Wall" came down.

sometimes they are small and under the edge of the frame. Finish is not original. I already commented on price. I would assume the holster is also repro and the mag looks like a mecgar, which would be good for shooting. Some of these imports were quite nice and matching, but the finish looks like a re-blue and the back strap is all mottled.

I passed on it, got a few pics sent and the back strap and it looks like it was pitted pretty bad. Not sure if the grips are original, bit at 1200 it should be. I didn't get a clear pic under the barrel but I did t see a 8.83 stamp. Jim

I was told the back strap was stipling.

Maybe that is new "market speak" for "pitting".
I believe you can do better, good decision.

The front of the frame rails and the high part or island of the sideplate show zero wear from being put in a holster. The pitting was not addressed on the grip straps before the reblue. Just a shooter Luger now. I too think it was overpriced.

I hate to make offers thats alot lower than the asking price, so I emailed him and just politely passed on it. He was comparing other lugers on gun broker for pricing and I dont think we were close on price. Jim

It seems the owner decoded the proof marks and raised the price another $250 dollars for the Nazi markings. I was going to offer 750-800 but decided not to waste his or my time. Jim
