1939 S/42 Question

Hi all!
I inherited a 1939 S/42. Every part including grips are matched to the serial number with the exception of the center axle or toggle pin and the forward breech block pin on the toggle assembly. They are both unmarked. The rear axle pin is marked on the end and matches the pistol Can anyone tell me if this is correct? Thanks Lefty.

I don't remember the forward (breech block to center toggle) or middle (center toggle to rear toggle) axle pins being numbered.

Thanks a bunch for the reply's. My knowledge of lugers is limited. Not sure how rare or if its rare. I am a metal worker by trade and truly appreciate the design and craftsmanship that is exhibited in these old weapons. I also received a matching K-98 BNZ 41 Mauser as well.

That bnz '98 Mauser looks vaguely familiar...

The 3 spare mags look to be old ones. The wood bottoms are prone to breaking so should not be used. Plus they are worth way more than a good aftermarket "shooter"magazine.

A friend gave me the three spare mags. He said he thought they were Swiss. Each has a small cross etched in the divot of the base.

I have one like this. Swiss made aftermarket, and good ones, too. Nice quality and function, similar to the Erma post-WWII examples. The bottoms are plastic, but I haven't heard as many complaints about their breaking out. The upper case script P is the makers mark, but I forget who.

Yes - those are Swiss magazines, and are worth more than modern aftermarket magazines.

I personally don't shoot a Luger that is all matching and in this nice an original condition. One broken part and you lose quite a bit of value.
