Can anyone tell me what price range would be considered reasonable for an East German reworked Luger? I understand there's a lot of variable such as make, date, markings and overall condition, but I'm looking for a general guidline to follow (if there can be such a thing).
Brocks Guns has several East German reworks that go for $799 and up. As stated in a prior post, I have noticed they haven't sold many at those prices. I was heading in their direction until I found this site. Now I'm waiting for Shattuck's list to see what he can come up with. I'm looking for a P08 that I can send to Thor for the proper rust blue/strawing. At what price would it best to say "forget it" to a post war arsenal rework? Thanks in advance, Blaine |

I saw a Luger last fall for $395, civilian one, and last winter and early Spring, they (the East Germans) were $450 and right now $550 is the normal price. Ask on the forum for any being sold. Ted (Thor) has some East German reworks that he reworked and reblued.
Point is, that if you watch, you can pick something up for a decent price.

take your time and look around, I sold one a few months ago, I had put a new barrel on it for a guy a few years ago then ended up again with it when I sold his estate after he passed...$250 for a shooter....there are better deals out then the big dealers....try home town advertizing for one and see what happens.

There are two Lugers sitting in a dealer's display case near me priced at $600 each. Both are E. German reworks and both are Mausers. I consider $600 to be more than a shooter should go for.
